About this product
Melts Eye Care by Wellbeing Nutrition is an eye-health supplement in a Zesty Lime & Lemon-flavoured oral strip that dissolves on the tongue. It combines Lute-gen® lutein and zeaxanthin with bilberry extract, beetroot extract and N-acetyl glucosamine (NAG).
- Lute-gen® lutein and zeaxanthin. Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids that the body takes up into the macula, the central part of the retina. According to the Linus Pauling Institute, they gather there as macular pigment and absorb much of the blue light that reaches the eye.
- Where they come from. Neither carotenoid is made by the body. Leafy greens such as spinach and kale, maize and egg yolks are good food sources.
- Bilberry and beetroot. Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) is a dark European berry related to the blueberry. Beetroot extract is also included.
- N-acetyl glucosamine. A naturally occurring amino sugar, included in the blend by the manufacturer.
- Melt-in-the-mouth strip. Plant-based and taken without water. Take one strip a day. Each pack holds 30 strips.
