Echium seed oil supplies omega-3 as both ALA and SDA, alongside omega-6 and omega-9, in a softgel that suits vegetarians and vegans.
- Plant omega-3. Two softgels provide 469 mg of omega-3, made up of 325 mg ALA and 144 mg SDA.
- SDA. Echium is a natural source of stearidonic acid (SDA), an omega-3 that the body can convert to EPA.
- Omega-6 and omega-9. The same serving provides 259 mg of omega-6 and 146 mg of oleic acid (omega-9).
- Fish-free capsule. The shell is made from glycerol, modified corn starch and carrageenan, so the softgel is vegan. Blister packaging helps protect the oil from air.
- Good to know. Adults and children aged 12+ take 2–4 softgels daily; children aged 3–12 take 1–2. Take with food. Seek advice first if you take blood thinners, are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not exceed the stated dose.
