About this product

Holland & Barrett Live Friendly Bacteria with Acidophilus is a daily probiotic capsule. Each capsule supplies about 3 billion viable cells: 2.9 billion Lactobacillus acidophilus plus Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis, Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Lactobacillus salivarius (3 million each), with fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS).

Four strains. Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species, which are among the bacteria naturally found in the gut.
With FOS. Fructo-oligosaccharides are a plant fibre that gut bacteria can use as food.
Why strains matter. Different probiotic strains can act in different ways, so effects seen with one strain don't automatically apply to another.
Vegan capsule. Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
One a day. Take one capsule a day, preferably with a meal. Don't take it with hot drinks, as heat kills the bacteria. The pack holds 60 capsules.
