Where 12.5 mg fits in treatment
12.5 mg is an in-between step between 10 mg and 15 mg, reached after at least 4 weeks on 10 mg if your prescriber decides to increase the dose. Only buy the strength your prescriber has written.
Using the 12.5 mg KwikPen
Inject once a week on the same day, under the skin of the stomach area or thigh (or the back of the upper arm if someone else injects), changing the site each week. If you miss a dose, take it within 4 days; if more than 4 days have passed, skip it and continue on your usual day. Keep the pen in the fridge (2 °C to 8 °C), do not freeze it, and after first use it can be kept below 30 °C for up to 30 days.
Safety
Common side effects include nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, constipation and stomach pain; drink plenty of fluids. Get urgent help for severe, persistent stomach pain or signs of a severe allergic reaction. Not for use in pregnancy. See the full Mounjaro guide for more.
